Conspiracy Theory #3

This time around I hooked up with my old band, the Stabones. We reminisced about old times, set the record straight on a few incidents, and talked about the plethora of new material waiting to be recorded. But most of all, we discussed how they used to be good. You know, before they sold out.

P.S. Green Day is a punk band.

The Stabones 100th Show!

After three years of drunken rambling, The Stabones will play their 100th show Thursday night at the Outback Lodge. This show is only 6 bucks and it's guaranteed to be a party! Opening will be Charlottesville, VA metalheads One Eyed Suicide and Mullet Brigade.

Record Theory labelmates Fire At Will were forced to cancel after a catastrophic McDonalds bag accident. Film at 11.

To futher mark this momentous occasion, we've teamed up with the excellent staff of Punknews.org to extend the Stabones Liver Let Die giveaway through the month of April. So, if you missed out in February, now is your second chance to download this piece of Charlottesville history for free.

Happy Anniversary!

Well, boys and girls, it looks like Record Theory survived its first trip around the sun. On Saturday, February 24, we celebrated our first anniversary! After burning through countless hours, beers, and bank accounts, we've successfully released eleven albums and helped prove that artists can actually make money by selling downloads. It's been a lot of work and a lot of fun, and we look forward to many more years to come. Above all, we'd like to sincerely thank our artists for really doing the important work and crafting music that we love.

But what's a birthday celebration without party favors? To mark this momentous occasion, we will be offering The Stabones' album "Liver Let Die" for FREE download through Friday March 2. This album is Record Theory ground-zero: RT-100. If you haven't already gotten it (who hasn't?) then now is the time.

Record Theory on Last.fm

I’m in the process of adding every Record Theory release to Last.fm, but that means tracking down my copy of each album! So, expect more over the next week or so. But for now, we have these albums ready to go:

For now, I’ve only activated the free songs as full-length preview tracks. However, I’m leaning towards making each album completely available. Especially with the new Flash player on each page. Please leave a comment if you’d like to hear more of these albums and it’ll help me with my decision.

And while you’re there, go ahead and join the super awesome Record Theory group!
